If you host multiple Internet sites in the very same account and one of them gets hacked, it's more than likely that all of them will be hacked afterwards. There are several reasons why this could happen, the two most common are: using very weak passwords or using outdated scripts with known weaknesses. That way, a single compromised website can do a lot of damage to all your sites, because getting access to one script often allows hackers to access the entire web hosting account. This is the reason why we've created an outstanding security option named JailHost. Once enabled, this option will literally lock a website in its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other websites in the account will be hidden. Thus they'll be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your sites up to date, but it'll significantly minimize the damage.
JailHost in Web Hosting
In case you host your websites within a web hosting account from our company, you will be able to protect them using the JailHost feature with just a few mouse clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is provided with all packages and can be enabled for each folder because the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so that files for different Internet sites do not get mixed up like it usually happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you could use scripts that require access to folders outside the primary website folder and this option may interfere with their proper operation, but shielding all of the other folders is very easy. In case a protected site gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to restore it quickly because we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups from Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our semi-dedicated hosting packages come with JailHost provided by default. This feature is not enabled automatically when you add a domain as you may want to use some script which accesses multiple folders in the account, but you'll be able to activate it with ease through your Hepsia Control Panel and protect the rest of your sites with just a couple of clicks. Hepsia is much better to use when you have multiple Internet sites because it keeps them in separate folders and doesn't keep the files for several Internet sites in the very same folder as it often happens with other Control Panels. This allows us to offer JailHost as all of the folders can be isolated from each other. If any of your websites gets hacked, we'll promptly restore it using the several daily backup copies that we will keep and meanwhile your attacker will not be able to do further damage as the access to your other websites will be blocked.
